Shug provides metal laser cutting from Mooroolbark in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Whether you have a prototype, a small batch or a repeat order, start with a vector drawing, the material thickness and the number of parts.
Our metal cutting range

- Aluminium up to 2 mm
Specify the material grade and surface finish if your project needs a particular specification. For the full service details, see our laser cutting service page.

Plan your laser cutting job
Prepare drawings and quantities
Supply your vector files at a 1:1 scale in millimetres. We accept AI, EPS, DWG and DXF, with DXF preferred. Remove dimensions, notes, borders and duplicate lines; close the cut outlines and convert text to outlines. Leave repeated parts unnested and specify the quantity of each different part.
The file preparation guidelines show examples. If you only have a photograph or screenshot, contact us about file conversion before quoting the cutting work.
Explain any further fabrication
Laser cutting produces flat shapes and cut-outs from sheet metal. If your finished project also needs bending, welding or another fabrication step, include that in the enquiry so the requirements can be discussed. Tell us your required timing rather than assuming a turnaround.
